Petrel

A 600mm x 600mm x 80mm ‘Gullwing’ type luminaire with recessed body and surface mounted curved Actulite multi layer patented polarising panel giving uninterrupted direct glare free polarised equivalent natural light down and across the ceilings, with reflected down light from the parabolic reflectors, and light emitted through the ends. Utilising a 55 watt colour 860 PLL lamp with HF control gear, the luminaire has an unusually high light output and very low energy usage.

The curved Polarising lens projects below ceiling level giving uninterrupted direct side lighting across the ceilings, plus end lighting through the translucent opal polycarbonate lens support end pieces

The lamp is positioned below the highest point of the curved polarising lens, preventing the escape of any unshielded direct light. This also allows uninterrupted light to the reflectors, with no screening, as in conventional gullwing luminaires.

The curved Actulite polarising lens is bonded into substantial aluminium channel frames and acts as an individually stressed unit. This allows for trouble free hinging of the unit for cleaning and tube changing purposes.
