 Actulite
produces a quality of light identical to that of natural
daylight

Actulite produces a quality of light virtually identical
to that of natural daylight. This is achieved from the combined
use of our Actulite patented multi-layered light polarising
panels, high frequency control gear, and specially manufactured
triphosphor 6000k full spectrum fluorescent tubes. Actulite
creates an even spread of glare free equivalent natural light,
with perfect colour rendition, across the whole working plane
Standard GLS and fluorescent lighting peaks extremely
at yellow, with the rest of the colour frequencies being
scarcely and unevenly represented. The eye is particularly
sensitive to yellow. Yellow however is only usable by
one third of the rods and cones of the eyes. Therefore
it follows that visual work involved when using conventional
fluorescent lighting is being done by only one third
of the eye.
This causes the eyestrain, visual tension, headaches
and general malaise with which most of us are familiar.

All of us feel at our
best when we are able to be outside on a pleasant spring
day. This 'feel good' factor is induced by the quality
of light that we experience in that situation, and the
primary cause of this light is the polarisation of the
sun's rays by the earth's atmosphere.

Due to the increase in Visual Perception, average ambient lighting
levels that would normally be designed to around 500lux in conventional
lighting need only to be designed to around 350 lux when the
Actulite system is used. This results in a reduction of tubes
and a saving of a minimum of 33% in energy consumption against
conventional lighting.
